Well I would obviously recommend The Cut Throat Trial, if they haven’t already read it. Because I’m a publicity monster.

But non-fiction-wise, In Your Defence by Sarah Langford is brilliant. Ditto In Black and White by Alexandra Wilson. Also A Bit of A Stretch by Chris Atkins.

This is off the top of my head.

These sorts of inefficiencies happen on quite literally a daily basis. Everybody in the system knows this. Everyone.

Yet what is the government’s diagnosis?

“Juries. They are the problem. Get rid of juries.”

It is absolutely mind-boggling.
