Five years ago while this quarry was being dug out for shale, they left a bare hole in the rock and it filled with rain water. It's first year was just an empty pool, but since then it evolved into this wildlife rich pond and this is the result today. Amphibians,fish and invertebrates call it home.

It's not just the wild fires that burn, strong summer storms burn, bruise and tear at the foliage of trees. Here in Crow Wood foliage shows damage caused by the storms we had some weeks ago.
