Now even the japanese version for the re-release has the censored scene. It's the opposite of what happened to Xillia's remaster undoing the censorship in every single release, which makes their choice even more ridiculous

What's most remarkable is that this is (apparently, I haven't played Berseria either) the first cutscene in the game and the one that sets up Velvet's motivations throughout the game, so censoring it is certainly a choice

Oh yeah it was a rather big thing back when the game came out. Only the japanese version showed the uncensored scene, the international versions had the censored scene (incl. the Asian English PS3 release)

I guess that's also why people didn't complain about Baten Kaitos HD also being censored bcuz all that censorship was there since the original releases (and even doubled down with making all the alcohol juice)

Ok I'm ending the rant here but it's both funny and upsetting that they call themselves crusaders against censorship but aren't saying anything about Namco not undoing stupid censorship that they can't hide from us bcuz we are in the era of the internet now

Like they were panicking to hell and back about Presa being censored in Xillia R but there's literal silence about Namco doubling down on the initial censorship in Berseria, probably because it doesn't involve anime girls and is, instead, a change that alters the impact of a key scene in the game

Censorship doesn't matter when the company itself confirms it. It only matters either when we make it up in our minds OR when it involves anime girls. Anything like censorship that alters the actual story of the game or that involves queer characters gets pushed under the rug!/sarc
