As you mentioned Pat this situation with E33 feels especially vindictive given we knew about the AI use months ago. It also feels like the game and studio is just kind of being used as an example since it won awards to pushback on GenAI more, but it feels like the gun is pointed at the wrong people.

It doesn't help that the level of knowledge of GenAI is so bad, that people get mad when the term AI is used even when it's not even related to GenAI as if AI hasn't existed before 2022.

I personally dislike GenAI and hate all of the aspects of it that are destroying both the planet and multiple industries.

but this level of general hate towards anything that even touches it for minute reasons is going to reach the point that even the most harmless uses is gonna snowball bad

If this was years ago, I think they wouldn't care and just release the game, not worrying about it, but now they want to appeal to so god many people they want to avoid that issue like the plague. It sucks but it's also just kind of what's been happening. I think even dread did it a bit at the start

It doesn't lock tutorials behind scans. It doesn't provide all the information on what certain things do or how to access certain things behind scans. Like the game doesn't tell you that you what many terminals do until you scan them, which I know bounced off a lot of people.

A big part of this is that expecting a lot of modern gamers to scan stuff and read to figure out things in any game these days is such a massive ask. The game shouldn't literally baby people, but as far as tutorialization goes, it not explaining things outside of scanning would push so many away.

My thing is like he sounds like he is so early into the game that it feels like people are essentially complaining about Prime 3's intro with the federation and tutorialization but done today and with voice acting instead of silent text.

The problem with the gameplay criticism is that we don't even know how much it affects gameplay yet because we weren't given the full scope of the whole mechanic.

Like are we talking ADAM levels of interaction? Prime 3 levels of NPC stuff? Who knows? we haven't seen enough yet.

As with most free to play games, you can either pay to unlock skills faster, or you just get them by playing the game. There is a lot of overlap with what the skills do so it's mostly for flair.

Pretty much everything is free of course, they just require a grind like all free to play games.

That is meant to be the dungeon you technically do after doing literally every single other dungeon... TotK has a massive problem of being a game with a set order to the events while also trying to be open like BotW.

Finished the first one with my girlfriend not long ago since she never experienced the games, and we are going to get into Justice for All this winter when we are less busy. I have been hyping it up a decent bit because I really think they are going to love the characters. Pearl, especially.

That one always felt like it was the one that really sucked me into the Ace Attorney franchise. Like I really like the first game, but it always felt like a build-up to the rest of the games and world. Justice for All feels like when things started getting really good.

Kinda curious about why you picked Justice For All over the other Ace Attorney games to represent that franchise. Is it specifically that last trial or was there another specific one.

The same level of effort that they put into new splatoon ideas/content is on full display with Animal Crossing, and that is the most derogatory thing I can ever say about a Nintendo game outside of how I feel on Pokemon. Man, I just miss what Animal Crossing was so bad...
October 30, 2025 at 2:26 PM
Splatoon has become such the major focus for that studio at Nintendo that it's starting to get frustrating. They need to just give AC to a different team or something at this point, but I don't even know if that's the solution.

Also, needing NSO to play the retro games is genuinely vile. Why would I want to play them in Animal Crossing if I already have NSO and can just play the games in their dedicated software. Absolutely baffling low effort kind of stuff over here after 4 years of not giving any care for that game.

The non-restricted mode genuinely should have just been the base game at this point because that's all that game ever really was about. Making a diorama/doll house to show off to other people. It shows how arbitrary all the restrictions of the base game were for all these years.
