Earlier in October we had a very popular Nature Art Workshop on the Common. We created ephemeral works of art using found natural materials, inspired by the principles and artworks of James Brunt. Participants young and old created wonderful collaborative and individual pieces.

Our October Yaffles Family Nature Club was also planned around the theme of autumn leaves, the children were assembling and displaying their best finds on a fallen tree trunk and arranging them on small pieces of card. Our next Yaffles session will be on the 15th of November (£2/child, adults free).

An article published this month in Healthcare, the Counselling and Psychotherapy Journal, concluded that social and therapeutic horticulture can "significantly reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety, improve mood and concentration and enhance overall wellbeing".
