Well that looks very civilised 😁

Hahaa! Look what I happen to have in my cellar! 😆
But I could do with that other stuff you have there… 🤔
November 27, 2025 at 9:05 PM
Needs an onion, probably 😆
November 27, 2025 at 8:57 PM
How’s it tasting?
November 27, 2025 at 8:41 PM
I’m guessing there’d be a bit of a lag after enough cider 😆
November 27, 2025 at 7:57 PM
Oooh yeah.
November 27, 2025 at 7:42 PM
😂 Now that’d be a good name for a sake.

The sad thing is these big industrial makers have coloured the view of what cider is to the extent that that’s what people expect, and national definitions start enshrining that nonsense. It’s rather infuriating.
November 27, 2025 at 7:09 PM
Exactly. James’s point is that many believe cider to be just fermented apple juice. But the reality is that most industrial ciders have really low juice content, as you probably know. But there are now plenty of us making and selling real, 100%, harvest-based ciders just as you describe.

Indeed. We have covered that particular myth a few times on CR.

But steady on now! 35% would blow people’s minds! Best stick to the Swedish 15% model. 😆

Oh my! Now I want stout! 😆
Gotta catch ’em all?
November 27, 2025 at 6:00 PM
It’s hearty and spicy. Good for these dark evenings. 🙂
November 27, 2025 at 5:52 PM
Grand! Smells amazing.
November 27, 2025 at 5:37 PM
I also have one of those fancy french pots, I think (well, a German-made version) 😆
Don’t bake as much as I used to. 😕
November 27, 2025 at 4:03 PM
Pretty tasty too. I have to admit I had more than one. 😜
November 26, 2025 at 10:07 PM
*Horse butcher! Though maybe he made horse burgers too. 😬😄
November 26, 2025 at 9:41 PM
I love the stuff. Haven’t made it in a long time, but my mother-in-law does a mean one. Shit, adding it to the list 😆
I remember years ago a guy I drank with hosted a Sauerbraten “party” to use horse meat. Apparently makes the best Sauerbraten, and there was a horse burger nearby. I wasn’t there 🙁

Recipes I’ve used have varied from 3 days to a week.
