Dang it really was TEN YEARS AGO that I was Thomasina in Arcadia. The show that brought me back from a very dark place, returned my passion and curiosity to me. And allowed me to burn the memory of who I was before it to a neat crisp.

Chance was restless. She kept walking up to me, then walking back to her bed. burrowing under her blanket, then climbing out and repeating. I finally figured out she wanted us *both* to be under a blanket. Together.

Reading this excerpt from his autobiography written in 2017 and remembering that it wasn’t so long ago. Things were hopeful and can be again. The hatred is manufactured and the love is real.
When I transitioned in 1997, it was thought that only one in about 20,000 people were transgender, but now, in 2017, it is thought that at least one in 200 people are transgender. LGBT people are often high achievers. Many LGBT people in my generation share growing up with a shameful secret and consequent low self-esteem. Perhaps this may drive us to work hard to succeed in order to prove our self-worth. Things are changing fast for transgender people. The internet has enabled relevant information to be easily researched and accessed, and the public is now being rapidly educated. TV shows often feature transgender characters, and transgender people can now serve openly in the military. There are still some battles being fought, such as gaining protection from being fired for being transgender, as well as bathroom protections, but the public is mostly sympathetic to and supportive of LGBT people, so I believe these battles will soon be won.

Went to a spot called Potamago (Pork Tamago Onigiri) on a recommendation from the Japan Eats youtube channel and the food was SO good but also the franchise founder was there to inspect the store and he was so excited to come up and talk to us about his restaurant.
Two sandwiches with nori and rice “bread,” egg, and spam. One has a dollop of pickled plum. The other has thinly-sliced wagyu and onion. They look very delicious.

Went to Goldenrod Radio Tower (Tsutenkaku in Osaka) yesterday. Not a Rocket in sight. Shameful. Hail Giovanni.
The Tsutenkaku towers over the Shinsekai streets, blocking out the rising sun. It looks like it’s glowing in the cloudless blue sky because the sun is directly behind it. Leon up high in the tower searching for Rockets. Leon searching for Rockets with binoculars. There is a disco ball hanging from the ceiling for some reason. Leon and Willy standing over the city of Osaka. Willy looks happy. Leon looks terrified and is gesturing down to the platform they’re standing on — clear glass with a perfect view of straight down into the street.

Went to Yellow Submarine to see all the TRPGs (tabletalk rpgs) and decided that the next time I come here my name will be in one of them.
A sign for Yellow Submarine, an RPG store. The TRPG section, which features western games like d&d and cyberpunk translated into Japanese, and Japanese games. Some wargames like Hundred Days campaign and 1776.
