Quite greenie leftie. Likes to ebike bravely around Tamaki Makaurau. Knits socks and makes marmalade. In the back-biking-trails-again stage of cancer recovery. Old enough to have a Gold Card. Tāngata Tiriti.
Yay. Well done.

On the other hand...

Same. I made good use of the long Auckland lockdown to (re)gain confidence riding a bike on urban streets - something I hadn't done for 3 decades. 12,000+ km later I'm still biking and it is now my main mode of transport for local trips.

Yeah, division of labour works out well in our household. One of the 4 does all the dishes and kitchen cleaning. He thinks it's a great deal for never having to cook. The other 3 of us reckon sharing the cooking and never doing dishes is a great deal too.

We have a dishwasher in our household. And a coffee machine. I don't use them. I just benefit from someone else in the household being proficient in using them.

Google "mother of the bride dresses nz". There are indeed businesses which specialise. (I seem to recall my late SIL mentioning that she went to one for her MOTB outfits. No personal experience of my own.)

Aren't there entire shops devoted to mother of the bride outfits? If not, there should be.

One does not need to learn how to stack a dishwasher if one never has to stack a dishwasher. If the need to learn to stack a dishwasher arises one can learn later. The same principle applies to making coffee.

Yes. Applies to relationships of multiple people too. All a household needs is one person who is anal about stacking a dishwasher. The rest just leave them to it. It helps if they are also the one who is anal about unstacking the dishwasher.

I agree they're preferable to DPNs. However I prefer the magic loop method.

Can we please make a rule that coalition agreements consist only of policies that all coalition partners agree on, as evidenced by their individual party election manifestos. If any of them want to get their other stuff into legislation they'll have to get votes from the other side of the house.

I once stayed in a hotel room like that in Hong Kong. On the 2nd day we discovered a blind that could be pulled down.

He says he's going to be Prime Minister "going into next year". That's at least 6 weeks then.

So funny.
I'm waiting to hear what Karoline Leavitt says when she's asked to confirm that Trump is a fascist.

Sometimes we get good outcomes in spite of the shortcomings of our democratic processes. Other times we get awful outcomes because of them.

Congratulations. My beloved and I didn't get married and have been together over 50y. We'd been together half our lives before we had children.

That's really really hard to do. Hugs to you and everyone who does it. It takes a huge toll on physical and mental health.
