I can't give more details, because the carpet is not mine. This carpet was owned by an Iranian Jewish family, and this carpet came to Germany during WWll, between 1930-40s. I discovered that there are many Judeo-Persian dialects in Iran. Maybe it's written in one of those languages.

This further fuels my curiosity.

Thank you very much for the information. It's truly very useful 😊 I also searched online for infos about carpet inscriptions and learned about the Qashqai people of Iran. Perhaps, as you described, this is a fake signature or inscription is in the Qashqai language? But the carpet is quite old.
