If you are in those purple boxes, congrats: You still might not be within a chunk due to a bizarre way DK64 does chunk detection. It subdivides the chunks into subchunks. These are terribly inefficient. The main area of Japes (Chunk 3) has 67 subchunks.

Well, first, you have to be within one of those purple boxes. If you're not within a purple box, you are not within a chunk of the game. This doesn't necessarily mean you have to be out of bounds either as this slice of Ballroom has no chunk.

DK64 splits it's massive worlds into chunks. This splits the world so that the game's performance is better. For example, Jungle Japes (shown here) is split up into 19 chunks, as shown by these purple bounding boxes.

So how does the game know you're within a chunk?

Introducing DonkViewer:

The past few days I've been working on a brand new tool which shows all 216 maps in DK64 in various modes (geometry, collision etc) all within the web browser, and I finally have it in a state where it's ready for others to play with.

Discord has a new feature where you can style your name with various fonts (presumably nitro only). Unfortunately it makes it harder to read and parse through a bunch of names.

Here's the setting to turn off those custom styles rendering.

Turns out that DK64 has a wireframe mode built in. Doesn't look like there's any way to activate it in the vanilla game without memory hacking.

Thankfully, all it takes is 2 address changes to activate

Hey, BBC, this isn't a good thing. Locking the news behind a paywall is a VERY bad idea.

That price is ludicrous as well. You can literally buy a subscription to a password manager that comes bundled with a decent VPN for 10 people cheaper than the suggested price.
