yeah, I went and looked it up: they rushed out a shitty story mode (big robust story was a highly anticipated post-launch feature) and put a huge emphasis on season pass DLC, but 2 of the characters were ALSO mega-rushed and are unplayable. Original dev team got fired and game is totally abandoned.

It's still around and perfectly playable as far as I know, there's just almost nobody who actually engages with it anymore and it's pretty much dead as a fighting game.

I think they got bought out by a larger publisher once they reached full release, though I'm not 100% on that, but they made some really shitty decisions with regards to monetization/DLC and overall structure that just killed the community for the game.

isn't like... the primary benefit of having such a massive, expansive universe with so much worldbuilding to be able to tell a wide variety of stories within that world?
Do teenagers just not exist in the Star Trek universe anymore? can we not explore their stories in the context of the Trek mythos?
