Hi. I currently work for CBC Radio in Vancouver. I was born in the Blandlands. Re-posts are not endorsements. It means I think it's noteworthy. Or newsy.

The freelance market is such that without a major revenue generator like this newsletter, full-time writing is all but impossible. When combined with a recession, it's even worse. I am once again asking people to take seriously and appreciate views that conflict with their own.

It's for Donald Trump. That is what the past year has been about.

I'm not entirely sure about the point you are making.

Is it that drug users shouldn't be stigmatized so that they can get the help they need through compassionate policy?

Or that I should be comfortable with the fact many doctors have addictions and that's fine?

If your pattern is a simple disregard for your own well being, why am I to trust your opinion on matters of gen pop health?
What we do in the past does matter. It's a part of our history and who we are today.

No, obviously past drug use is not a disqualifier. It does make me wonder about the person's mental well being though. And when said person has had brain worms and a serious disregard for health professionals, with no experience of their own, yeah I'm gonna think about patterns.

I'm not surprised. It doesn't make me feel safe about visiting them.

And this is a pretty accurate description of RFK Jr.

Is this making fun?

You can have empathy for vulnerable drug users without putting them in charge of the nation's health.

I think about how this could be used beyond drug users. And how power can be exerted over more vulnerable people the state deems unwell. How is this determined? And if police and health workers harm me, how will I get justice(

"The “deemed consent” provision, which presumes consent to psychiatric treatment for anyone detained in involuntary care under the law, is at the centre of a court challenge originally filed by the Council of Canadians with Disabilities and other groups in 2016."
