I've seen people unfortunately call Angie's mood swings as "PMS", despite the fact she did not suffer with PMS. Medical conditions such as PMS should not use as an misogynistic insult when it comes to disabled-coded female characters having mood swings.

This is what mood swings in BPD feels like

While Bipolar Disorder (BD) and Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) may overlaps with mood swings, these disorders are different.

6. Emotional Instability / Mood Swings

This is commonly overlapped with her unstable relationships, impulsivity and explosive anger. Angie's volatile emotions can be ranged from calm to intense anger, or sadness to intense happiness.

For nuances, Angie's self-blame also helped her to get Derek's Healing Touch and Determination back, as she is currently healing herself. They still continue to work together with personal goals.

Knowing the pain for not just Angie wanted to save her dad, but she also wanted to pull FP (Derek) back to resolve their break-up with push-pull dynamics.

Derek who refused to give up, also stopped Angie overworking and self-blame as SH allegory.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
When combined with Fear of Abandonment, she was trying to pull FP (Derek) back while self-harming, pleading him to not leave her.

Borderlines also use SH to prevent their loved ones leaving.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
When it comes to SH allegory, people misunderstood that she was guilt-tripping Derek, but this is not what Angie does. She blamed herself after pushing FP (Derek) away, and failed to pull back him.

Self-blaming can be interpreted as self-harming in front of FP, and sign of needing a help.

Angie's hardworking can be also bad trait too, she overworked herself until her physical health couldn't handle it anymore. Knowing that, she is a workaholic.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Angie was suggested to get an alternative and healthy coping mechanism for SH, but she already planned to go see her dad, instead of getting help.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
This scene can be interpreted where Angie was caught for self-harming herself.

While Angie isn't confirmed to have SH injuries, her long arm warmers can be coded for hiding SH injuries.

UtK2 Chapter 4 tackles topics of non-graphic SH allegories, which is more clearer in the English localization.

When Derek lost his Healing Touch and transferred to Hope Hospital temporarily, Angie's SH allegories involves her overworking and self-blame. It's also coping for her break-up with FP.

Judging from dialogues, Angie's childhood isn't sunshine and rainbows at all. She ORIGINALLY WANTED TO DIE to end her pain and suffering. What's more important, her trauma is also a survival and seeking help from FP (Derek).

She has chosen to live no matter what she went through.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Despite her fears of death, Derek is supportive and helped Angie to overcome her fears of death and how to live the fullest life despite her trauma.

5. Suicidal Behavior and Self-Harm

In this context, we know Angie has fears of death. When it comes to allegory, Angie was going to die at 8 y/o despite her dad refuses to accept her dying, he had to help with Delphi if he wants to save his daughter.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
If you understand her nuances and don't disregard actual victims who are speaking up with issues, congratulations, you passed literacy test for Angie's characterization, even you don't have to forcibly like her.

You can still read on Angie without making misogyny, ableism and sanism on her.

In conclusion, I don't justify and condone her actions towards Linda. Explaining her nuances such as BPD-coded trait is not excuse. Angie deserves a credit for having knowledge about GUILT and helping Derek surgically remove it.

Without her nuances, Linda would die from untreated GUILT.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Due to the impact of her nuances, it was Delphi's responsible for infecting Linda with GUILT. Delphi actually started the first.

Angie needed to be stressed and angry, in order to have Linda's lungs being re-operated. What she said isn't nice, but she is still flawed to save Linda from GUILT.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
This time, isolated incident happened 3 days ago. However, Angie doesn't snap out today. Instead, she was calm and worried if Linda was going to be euthanized if Linda asked to. Though thankfully, Linda is no longer suicidal anymore.

She doesn't want Linda to die, please think critically.

In the comparison for Linda's reactions

Linda projecting her own self-hatred onto Angie doesn't mean Angie hates Linda in EN.

Linda said it was OK for nurse to get angry, otherwise Angie bottling up would worsen more in JP. It's true for nurses' anger are reasons due to high-stress, not malice.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Angie splitting into Linda doesn't mean she wants Linda to die, she has no malicious intentions to hurt anyone else, including children and teenagers.

Borderlines do not want to wish upon a harm on someone when they are splitting! In reality, Angie doesn't like harming on minors.
November 13, 2025 at 12:37 AM
Continuation for Japanese version in the scene.

Judging from body language, she seemed to bottling up and running away without apologizing, but that doesn't mean she is an unforgivable person. The stress is too much for her unsafe environment.
