Individuals working on web accessibility can only do so much on their own, so get accessibility on the radar of organization managers. Leadership should demonstrate and enforce a commitment to accessibility, as it should be a team responsibility, rather than just yours alone.

For the interests of Canadians with disabilities to be namelessly subsumed under a broader ministerial mandate demonstrates an astonishing lack of commitment to a diverse and inclusive Canada, clearly flagging accessibility as non-priority for the federal government. #accessibility

Congratulations to Mark Carney and the Liberals! All of us at the Fund are hopeful that the new government will ensure that people with disabilities are not left behind. A Cabinet dedicated to accessibility will be a positive first step in demonstrating commitment to Equity, Diversity and Inclusion.
