As an Eagle Scout, I can still recite the scout oath and law by memory. You'd have to be an idiot to believe any of them are exclusively 'masculine values.' If anything, scouting imparts a sense of duty and service to others that is antithetical to this Hegseth and this administration.

I haven't seen much push back in the media on the central assertion that this is targeting people who 'celebrate violence' when it's really targeting people who are calling out the right's hypocrisy wrt gun violence or counter the hagiography of a controversial podcaster.

Also just straight up wrong. Politics is about addition *and* subtraction. If you know the other side will never vote for your candidate, demoralizing their turnout is a real and effective strategy. Converting voters is always preferable but not always possible.
