My employer says I have to tell you I don't represent them.
This is me, not at #Starbucks because Starbucks' labor practices are bullshit and I support the striking baristas.

This logic is so circular it's almost tautological. "You brown people can't assimilate here because we won't let you assimilate here because you're brown people who can't assimilate here."

Just finished. Really fun, smart space opera. None of the themes is especially new, but the takes are good and the characters are fantastic.

Early birthday gift from my spouse, timed well for today! Will eventually go in my office, needs framing first.

New stuff for the #Solidarity Wall from the Faculty Affairs Council at the U of Scranton. They're up to about 90 days working on an expired contract and getting...annoyed at management's unwillingness to bargain in good faith. Raise a fist for them!

you see this, QTP with a video game that transports you back to your childhood!

I can't even fathom how many quarters I crammed into this machine when he was an early teen.

First BSKY post of the #SolidarityWall in my office. Send me something from your #laborunion so I can add it to the wall of union power! Newest addition: United Academics-University of New Mexico. Second shot is the long view for context.

I'm not sure this image has ever been more apt.

Co-authored the afterword for this collection which is available for preorder now! Every single contribution says something that makes me a better labor organizer/activist and thinker.

Forbes' estimates of how much these folks made yesterday. By my math, their one day increase in wealth could fund almost 5 months of SNAP. One. Day. Yes, all those estimates are based on hokum and vibes (h/t @jenmercieca.bsky.social), but SNAP is gone so those folks could have bigger tax breaks.

Lots to say about No Kings rallies, but for now just this: anyone who thinks this was "terrorism" is fucked in the head.

Hoping @nytimes.com will ever fix itself is dumb. All we can do is counter their decision not to show what's really happening by showing it. This is what was really happening.

The fact that nobody can find it or name anyone who's involved with it (except by very soft implication) is just more evidence of how dangerous it is. It's Birch Society stuff.

Just the right follow-up to What Stalks the Deep. Very over the top meta-fictional murder mystery about awful rich people.

"Wait a minute. You mean the entire city of Pittsburgh isn't involved in a pretty boring soccer game? It's different from what I'm seeing on TV?"

I saw one of these on a pick-up truck this morning. All I could think was, "You're a very confused person." Their driving didn't do anything to make me rethink that assessment.

Finished last night. Not quite as brilliant as _Out_, but well worth the read. So glad to see more of her work in English.

If you're somebody who (rightly) denies that Antifa has leaders or an organization or anything like that, just be ready for the John Birch Society response: "Well, of course your leaders would tell you to say that."

Where is everyone? I thought Clay Shirky said everyone was coming here.

Ok, it's an optional class mtg on a rainy day so everyone opted out.
