In the introduction to the book edition of the screenplay to Terminator 2 (which I still have and is literally how I learned to write a screenplay) James Cameron wrote an intro in which he asserts he knew full well about the Rodney King tape and his movie…
My friend Takao, from Tokyo, calls L.A. "Terminator City" because he got the taillight of his rental car shot out on the freeway during his first visit here. He's right. It is Terminator City. On one of the most infamous pieces of videotape in history are two things: the second, and better known, subject on the tape is the senseless beating by LAPD officers of a man named Rodney King. The first is a distant view of the Terminator 2 crew shooting a scene on the streets of Lakeview Terrance, a few blocks away and a few days before the beating took place. In that scene, Terminator says "we have to avoid the authorities."

Honda’s CB750 was the first ‘superbike’, challenged 1970 Harley engines & British racing speed with countless improvements. Evolved out of the failed design marvel CB450, could hold its own against dominant 500cc Triumphs. Restoring one of those, engineering amazes me. @vintagemotobike.bsky.social
A 1974 Honda CB450K7 in sunburst orange with a small Jindo mix dog named Tofu who loves motorcycles sitting on it. I need to replace the master cylinder, gaskets, swap one of the exhaust pipes and gas tank,figure out why the left cylinder runs colder than the right, and undo some dumb things the last owner did to the headlights and signals but it starts and runs and is one of the most beautiful rides I’ve ever been on.

Hilarious to me back in 2016 talking to Bi Gan he said he watched Stalker cause Tarkovsky looked like his grandpa and he thought it sucked at first, and it’s nice when a movie can make you fall asleep. Because ever since a huge criticism of his work has been his films make some people fall asleep.
You use "Roadside Picnic" as the title of a book of poems in "Kaili Blues," which is also the title for the sci-fi novel Tarkovsky's "Stalker" is based on. The first time you saw "Stalker" was very important to you, but it's because you didn't like the film at first? The first time I wanted to watch "Stalker" was because the director looks like my Grandpa. As I watched it, I felt it is very awful and I thought that this world famous director cheated me. I wanted to critique this film so l thought I should finish watching it first. However, it was too hard for me at that time, I could only watch five to ten minutes each day. Finally, I finished it one day and I went to the school cafeteria for lunch, thinking I could proudly write an essay to criticize Tarkovsky when I got back to my room. Suddenly, something bumped into my mind: why can't film be like this? Can you achieve aesthetics through how you film? I admit the first time I saw "Solaris," in film school, my reaction was to fall asleep. But now his movies feel like a church to me. I think it feels good when you sleep during a film and I do often. I think "Solaris" is a good choice for it.
