Why have I never thought about this? That's a good idea! I thought they had a scan that was supposed to catch them thru the teleporters or landing airlocks. But maybe that was a retcon in Picard?

I haven't even listened to it yet. I'm not sure her being happy makes for a good album. While I do enjoy some of her work, I don't hinge anything on her. It's so weird when people do that. Rich people are rarely progressive bc it would mean parting w their money.

I'm guessing this is about someone that dropped an album this weekend?

I ran into that last week. I work w the HS library to help teachers & students get materials that aren't in their library. A teacher was looking for Project Hail Mary on e-audio, but that's an audible exclusive now so we can't get for Libby.

I don't know what it's like now, but Appalachian culture was so isolationist even in the 80s. The interstate finally got there in the 90s bringing in more tourism & out of area people.

So I'm from Georgia, and my family is from Savannah. But we lived more mid state for my dad's job in academic libraries. He got a job & moved us to North Georgia when I was like two years old. We were never considered local bc we "didn't have kin."
