Couple of branching thoughts before I move on.

As long as we continue to view management and leadership as about control and status laddering, rather delivering results and elevating those around us, we will continue to incentivise unsuitable and sometimes downright broken people to cling to power.

What’s it like inside your head?

In our extended family, we are divided into two groups - those (Swedish architects) who hang things in an orderly way and must have matching coloured pegs, and those anarchist chaos monkeys who hang things haphazardly with gay abandon.

I’ve had that, one day on my bike I narrowly avoided a car driving down from Takau St, all along below Kingsland almost to Nixon Park, completely oblivious to cyclists shouting and waving!

I’ve spent a lot of time in hospitals the past few days with a sick family member and was astonished at how few people were masked. Hospitals are FULL of sick people! And even if that ward wasn’t for that kind of sick, plenty of the visitors were coughing and sniffing. 😷

I too am married to a guy who looks like he should be the next leader of the National Party…but thankfully doesn’t share their (lack of) values!
