According the UNCTAD, the gap between "whoops, it used to be a nice planet" and "stopping climate change" is about $337 billion a year. (Hyperbole mine, they're more polite about it.)

Surprisingly few people are talking about how Trump did't slap #tariffs on Russia, despite US running a bilateral trade deficit there as well - even with all the sanctions.
(Not that there's anything strange about a rich country running trade deficits.)
