I have been really into No-Tell Motel by Ken Lowery recently. It's journal-y but in a sneaky way!
As a bonus, the playing cards are laid out in a really cool way that helps visualize the hotel, its guests, and what they get up to. *Extremely* clever.

That's from HOME (2024) by Nick G .of @deepdark.games. You can play solo or up to four players. It is *very* good and is one of my favorite games to recommend.
