Easy to be grateful when you can see a little blue sky behind those big clouds.

My 9yo made the mistake of sharing his grade 4 writing journal with me. Now, I won't stop talking about his April Fool's entry from earlier this year. Shared here with his permission.

Happy #LetterboxdFriday! What's your last four watched?

Good Boy gets four on the back of "they totally pulled it off." Vampires is bad but has some Carpenter magic. Dirty Harry is cool but it's the kind of film your racist uncle thinks is real. Full star for Lalo Schffrin score on that flick.

Did you know? CUPW edition.

Does this qualify for your list? Or maybe it's too metatextual.

Love this feed, thanks for your hard work!

Went to the second-hand store for pants and returned with a very nice copy of Ray's 'Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music' which might be the best record ever pressed in London, Ontario.

Complete with original inner liner, which bragged about how it was made here. Catnip for a nerd like me.

What is going on at Canada Post?

Thanks to the folks at Kingston local for this infographic.

TL:DR Canada Post management has spent a lot on infrastructure over the past five years and invested deeply in Purolator. CUPW members wages have not kept up with inflation over the last 5 years.

I read this last year and was describing it to my wife. Graham Greene is amazing.

They're both married and fall in love. She dies of guilt. I fuckin loved it.

In large part because of its fantastic score, I keep thinking about Night On The Galactic Railroad, made in Japan in 1985.

It's weird. A children's movie about friendship and death. It is almost glacially slow. Beautiful and a little difficult.

Hell yeah, the library rules. I bet your library has a bunch of Criterions too.

Since we're all going ape for film references on Mets TV, I wanted to make sure this image was available on here.

Incredible shot through the glasses. Mets are the nerdiest team going (complimentary)

This weekends 12 inch spins:

This Jay Dee release is fantastic. Listen to the instros first, then hear the rhymes they write for em, then listen to the instros again.

Clang Clang Ho is Guided By Voices letting it all hang out.

My Mike Nesmith LP still has the Zellers price tag.

This weekends listens on Compact disc.

Pere Ubu is amazing, this album feels like they were shot from a cannon.

I found the Club Ska CD at the Friends of the Library sale. Felt like stealing.

My afternoon walk to the bookstore yielded this.

The whole first side is a party. Can't believe there's an album funky enough to put "Jungle Boogie" halfway through the program.

Tonight's first listen is RAM, which I love. Ram On was our wedding song almost 19 years ago.

Always bewildered when I read the critical reaction in 1973 was that it's terrible. It's cheeky, fun and plainly beautiful to my ears.

My copy has a gatefold sleeve, and inside it has what may be the best band photo I've ever seen. They're all smiling like the cat who ate the bird.

We just spun this one and it's so, so joyful.

Came out in 1971, so it may be too old to be Disco, but you can definitely dance to it. Big guitars. "When You Got Trouble" is a huge tune for me.

In a terrible mood, so taking in a comfort watch of one of my favourite movies. Robert Shaw vs Walter Matthau.

I love looking at FB marketplace, etc. I was so disappointed when I found out this was for a doll.

There is no occasion for me to dress up as Bert. Why on earth did I want this so badly
