100%, this is community management 101.

Doesn't even need to be outright bigots. Ppl who make folks uncomfortable but are not _technically_ doing anything wrong still cause an exodus - it's easier to quietly leave than stay in the line of fire for something they aren't even paid to attend.
anyone who's ever run a community above a certain size can tell you that you either ban like 20 assholes or lose 20,000 normal people. allowing 'different voices' is a losing strategy.

One of the first things that I tell survivors of domestic abuse who are concerned about the safety of their devices to do is to check the security of their accounts. Techcrunch has a guide on how to do that.
It's never a bad time to take a look at your online accounts and see if you spot a weird device or login.

We have a comprehensive guide on how to check if your Gmail, Apple ID, Facebook, IG, WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, etc have been hacked.

We get asked all the time what kinds of things folks can do to help out the conference. The easiest one is just reposting our messages.
Tell a friend, coworker, mentee about the conference.
Purchase a ticket for a student or give us a donation.

People all over the world seem to be finding out how good the current state of geoip blocking is.

(Geoip is wrong an insane % of the time, there will be places outside the US being blocked if that is how they are doing this. It doesn't mean those countries blocked tiktok)
