And then you reach the peak
And they applaud
And then space folds
And then you go back home.

I built a shelter
Out of gray
Matter and blue;
I felt the snow
Of the day
Scatter right through;
It froze me in my tracks
And snowed me in
Halting my ascension

I think I have a fever;
The synapses flicker and burn
With nowhere else to go.
