our friendship ended very poorly. i’m okay with that. things are meant to ebb and flow. we only have so much space on our plate, even for those who have the ability to see our hearts fully. but even now these words still mean so much to me, as if I were the one writing them.

maybe in a way I was.

the kind of friendship that hardly needed words to communicate. so much so that when the speaking did occur it would spark a disagreement. for every moment of laughter there was a moment of discomfort. and a part of me thinks we both enjoyed the volatility of it all.

it was the kind of friendship that saps you. wrings you out until you have nothing else to give. there is something so beautiful about that. on only one other occasion in my life have I felt truly seen and understood.
