I've stopped using "Economist" and have switched to "Computational Social Scientist". @[email protected] on Mastodon. He/him or they/them
Update: the Elsevier journal rejected my article after the editor just...couldn't find a second reviewer. The first review was positive, tho.

And! Your public library most likely offers access to the major newspapers. You can just login & check out the day's stories (or past ones) for free.

A good microeconomic theory text will work very hard to not talk about utility in dollars but (as mentioned upthread) in the half-joking unit of "utils". Then you send students out into the world and see if they take care to remember any of the theory or just reduce everything to the easiest thing.

★Haven't mentioned it in a while, but you could read or listen to this book on topology, which will remind you that the phrase "bad at math" is a false construct and a tool of oppression. Buy it on Bandcamp Friday and more of the $1 you paid goes to the author (me).

★ Sote: it's good that this isn't a CD shop because I have no idea which bin you'd find this in. It's Noise, it's Ambient, it's Persian Classical.

★ Nané, whom I know nothing about, but who put so much of themselves into every track. I want them to be famous so I can use Always on My Mind as my karaoke go-to.
