Ofc no one is obligated! Figured I would link my kofi anyhow. It's not a NEED, but it's something that would make working on art much easier in the case of not being able to work at my desk or at home!

Update: Shipping is 8 dollars, so if you're in the US and interested in getting these for yourself just know that the total is $20.98. Boo.
However. If anyone wants to help replace my Destroyed Paperlike Nib with these neat slip ons. ummm
Gently places this here

The thought of such a quiet nib is so nice too.. which is another reason I wanna get this lil pack of 5 up in the first post 😭😭 The clickity clacketing is pretty distracting even with my ADHD medication kicking<//3

There's an alternative that provides more friction and is even Quieter but there's no way in hell that I'll shell out 40 fucking dollars for THREE (3) nibs. Like hello? For that much it should be no less than a pack of 5, maybe 10 since they're Caps, not a Nib itself. That's Insane actually.

I have just the regular nib it comes with though, so it's Useable, technically, but it's one that makes art so difficult OTL
For nibs, I rlly wanna try these slip-ons for it, especially since it's only the cost of 2 kofi's! Or 3 to cover tax + shipping, presumably

OMG ILL CRY??
I have the 12.9" iPad pro (4th gen)!
These are what an old friend of mine let me try- the screen protector here is still Quite Smooth, which I found odd? And the nib on the right is Kinda nice but hasn't really helped much. But the dog Ate It and now I've got nada MJNHDNHNHF

So a more textured screen protector + felt nib feels like home and GREATLY impacts the frequency of Doing Art and speed of Finishing Art. Unfortunately the screen protector I need for my XP Pen tablet only comes in a pack of 2 and it’s over 50 USD

tbh a slightly more worn nib is more comfortable to work with. I have a heavy hand and my style has always heavily involved varying line weight. I was 14 when I started using both bristle and felt Japanese inking pens for my lineart traditionally, and I loved the feeling of the latter on paper.

UGHHH YEAH
I really need a screen protector for my XP Pen tablet too cos the slight paperlike texture the Gen2’s come with aren’t textured enough for me tbh. I like when the screen protector can EAT MY NIBS!!

Anyways. With all this said, I use this for base/loose sketches since I’m all over the place (literally) then finish everything up on PC. I Do enjoy that I’m able to be a little carefree and Loose w/my sketches though Because of the iPad + Apple Pencil being how they are though. So it’s not all bad!

Ja I’m a TraDigital artist that’s used screen drawing tablets but the actual literal feeling of pencil, pen, and brush on paper + the matte-like screen paired with a felt nib stylus is totally different. Like. I don’t use stabilizers and have always had a steady hand but this shit is so SLIPPERYYYY
November 10, 2025 at 2:55 AM
At this point I honestly think I need a more rubbery or silicone kind of nib so that there’s SOME friction and easier sense of control. This has always felt like using a buttery smooth gel pen on ultra glossy paper and the feeling + sound too is not an enjoyable experience. Idk how yall do it.
November 10, 2025 at 2:55 AM
I Fucking Hate the lack of control that comes with drawing on an iPad. Maybe I need an even more textured screen protector than the one I have but idk it’s still Way Too Glass-Like. I do not enjoy the Apple Pencil one but. I wish I could use my felt nibbed XP Pen stylus instead but alas.
