Honestly I though after first handful of games Newman was going to get buried on the bench but he has been much better the last few games. I also REALLY like the second unit - having him and Taj setting up BJ, Compton, Oden/Tae - but maybe having Newman would be better to get the starters going.

Yeah for sure, such a great move by Franklin...shows the Aztecs culture and hopefully Jamal gave him some good words of advice. I know this season has not gone the way Taj envisioned and I think he is a very good player that we need this year and going forward.

Not sure if you saw or was made aware, but I guess Jamal Franklin ran in to the locker room after him (I saw him running in but at the time didn't realize that Taj left the bench)

When a team shoots 10-22 from 3 in half (and they are not a good 3 point shooting team) you take the 10 point lead for sure. Will be interesting to see second half for sure.

I just don't get it...people think having more good players is making them worse than having less good players? I think not having a 'easy' game between Idaho State and Troy was a mistake and cost them a win (i.e. Troy) but Byrd, Gwath and RDW have all been hurt/sick and will play better.

Also relevant...he was really bad last year so why would the Saints even bother. Why bring this negative attention for a team that is not going to make the playoffs?

Would have been a great story for them to win this game in OT or 2OT. Troy just wasn't having it and Aztecs 20 turnovers just killed them. The back to back Gwath moving screen and Newman backcourt with 2:44 left up 4 with the ball was just brutal.

The only year I played high school football, my small Hawaii school JV team WON a game 7-4...so it CAN HAPPEN!

Just finished the first episode and it is certainly a different TV show but Rhea is so good and episode was very compelling.

He is certainly AJ's guy and assuming Preller gets an extension, this is going to be his last chance I would think. If Stammen doesn't work out, no way AJ sticks around for ANOTHER manager hire.

So many things wrong here but what about the flawed logic about stockpiling a month's worth of food...you can't 'stockpile' fresh fruit, vegetables, milk and most dairy, meat, etc.

I think the PG position is going to be the biggest decison Dutcher has. Reading between the lines it seems as Newman isn't the best option and Taj and Harrington seem to have a shot...but BJ (who is the best scorer and probably best on-ball defender) may actually be the starter even if not a true PG

Would you put Pujols in the same category as Hundley and Suzuki? Also, saw a picture of Suzuki as a coach of a youth travel ball team in Hawaii...but not sure if was the manager or just a coach...so need confirmation before we state he has 'ZERO managerial experience at any level'
