Sometimes it feels like I'm always learning about a new atrocity they never taught us about in school. The silence about these genocidal campaigns is it's own violence.
But I did learn of U.S.'s long history of violent expansionism in the Phillipines in "How to Hide an Empire" by Daniel Immerwahr.
