I finished assembling a new guitar from parts--a partsmaster, as they're sometimes called. The body is based on a Fender Jazzmaster. I bought pickups from a small maker named Malinoski; they're based on old DeArmond gold-foil pickups. I like the sound.

I'm . . . umm . . . not quite sure how many guitars I have . . .

My favorite right now is probably a partscaster that I put together: Meteora-style body; neck from Guitar Fetish; Charlie Christian-style neck pickup; lap-steel-style pickup in the neck from Mojo Pickups in England.

My old friend Darryn came up for a visit this afternoon. I was able to show him my place, and we went for an early dinner at my favorite local Mexican place. He's one of the great people of this world.

New (to me) Dean Palomino. The weather has been superb the last several days here in central Minnesota. Supposed to cool off tomorrow. I thought that I'd spend some time on the deck this afternoon.

Kinda makes me think of this photo. Shot on a Nikon S2 with the 5cm lens at f/1.4. I think that this is the best photo that I've ever taken.

I set up my Sinar in my yard a few days ago to try to get some apples in the trees.

The Schechter is not my style. And it's hard to say about the Zemaitis: some look cool to me, but others don't. But I'm into old grungy stuff.
