I remember the Zzap! review for the C64, turns out it's a combined review with Amiga. Apparently, the Amiga version is actually poor (usual for 1990 when it's often an ST port). Was by Vivid Image.

Apparently, this DRM wasn't reducing frames on earlier titles. They needed to tweak it to be more like Denuvo. Bingo!

I can't help but read that term ("liiiive service") in steph sterling's voice.

Ooh, I remember the 1986 original. My sister really hated the maze!

Hugely hindered, I'd say. It's about the only reason I've used the Epic client in the last couple of years. It was funded by Epic money, I suppose.

It's a pity Gold Medals needed a ridiculous score, with Thing on a Spring merely Sizzling at 93%.

Lemmings? Respect! Heck I still remember the final level code on Amiga (FINLLFIIJQ) but didn't get there legitimately. Thanks autism for my ability to remember useless facts but not common sense. (also, the code for VIC-20 4 Gates to Freedom is ptlsh, and the original Doom noclip is idspispiod. etc)

I lost all my Control progress one time, so I'm chipping away at it once more. Will actually finish the game someyear!

Its as welcome as reading, snuggling, and enjoying baked goods. Three concepts which I know you appreciate all together.

as George Michael once sang, if you're gonna do it, do it right.

I can see it now, if you didn't comment at all:

"As someone who worked at Valve for decades, his refusal to comment, even sarcastically, has been interpreted as a quiet acknowledgement that HLX, whether Half Life 3 or not, is real"

Yes, and no Bomberman 64!!! (I have personal memories of this one).
February 5, 2026 at 4:07 PM
Which ones, specifically? Is this prompted by the fact the Outer Worlds 2 is not selling well (I look suspiciously at Game Pass here...)?
February 5, 2026 at 4:04 PM
Although I enjoyed Valheim, I also love other games that have nothing to do with any of those three concepts. Just because games like Hytale are hugely popular, so are completely different styled games with no multiplayer, crafting, or survival. Not all have to love zeitgeist games!

This and Frank Bruno's Boxing are my bixing game c64 memories. The latter was sort of like Punch Out!, without the soul.

This was inevitable given its changes over the last few years, while still being very sad. An institution.
