If you're building something new, how do you get your first 10 users? Where do you post, how to let everyone know about it ?

Europe’s choice is clear.

To put science at the heart of its economy.

To become the home of scientific freedom and collaboration.

And to welcome talent from all over the world.

I’m glad to present the first elements of our Choose Europe Initiative.

I hope all this AI coding, vibe coding doesn't just lead to MVPised inferior products.

Saw a video by Primeagen where he mentioned that by using AI he didn't have to learn about shaders for his game. He could just prompt-code it. But it's like kicking a can down the road.

One thing I liked about the old (and to some extent existing) twitter was the whole "build in public" movement.

My pain as a mobile developer is that I'm not good at marketing. While I might build the product, it's no good if it's not downloaded/used.

#buildinpublic was cool :)

While I don't pay heed to "AI will replace software engineers", I can't help but wonder at the pace of development in AI coding tools. Tried lovable, bolt, and honestly, they build an MVP in minutes, something that'd have taken a dev an entire day to build.

What are some "actually" useful macOS apps you can't live without ?
Been bored of my mac lately, trying new stuff, switched my daily browsing from Safari -> Firefox. I had tried Arc Browser and was loving it, but they've essentially killed it. Firefox seems cool.
What else should I try ?

How do senior folks handle DSA interviews ? When do you start grinding leetcode to prepare ?

For me, I usually start 2-3 months before I want to interview. I feel like it's too much, but it gives me a good buffer and reduces my anxiety about DSA interviews.

10+ years ago it was popular to ridicule large tech companies on how slow they were to move, and how startups could run laps around them.

This is not the case any more: at least not for the largest companies (eg Meta, Google, Microsoft).

They ship with the speed of a startup.

Are you guys using LLM/GenAI for tests in Android ? I'm working on a testing playbook for my team, would love any inputs around this.

I have limited experience with testing so any inputs from seasoned folks are welcome. What should I keep in mind while creating this ?

How do you guys work on side projects while being employed ? Do you get a NOC from the HR dept. ? Or do you assume the company just wouldn't care ?

Eg. In The Netherlands, we need to obtain a KVK (business registration) to start a business. I'm sure the company would know about it sooner or later.

Wow! The racist vitriol on X on a Christmas eve is 🤯

I'm glad today, more than ever, that Bluesky exists where I can kill time and still maintain my sanity!

I've always wondered if those aesthetic home office setups do actually work! Or is it just for the gram ?

Would love to know what happens after the picture has been posted and the real work begins.

I tried maintaining an aesthetic setup, gave me OCD rather than declutterring my mind.

Apple Music or Spotify on Android ?

Which one do you prefer ?

I think this should be kind of a big deal: Elon Musk tweeting at 1:03am, “Only the AfD can save Germany.”

The AfD is Germany’s neo-Nazi party.

Android Devs, do you think market for mobile devs is shrinking?

In EU, I've been noticing that the openings are way less (than before covid).

Moreover the ones that are there, are not at good product based companies where the app is the product!

Your thoughts ? Been thinking of moving to Backend.

If we all find 100 posts to like every day, engagement and good will on @bsky.app grows exponentially.

Is it worth a few minutes to make the platform stronger ?

Engagement on my posts on Bluesky has seriously dipped for some reason @jaygraber01.bsky.social.

Would love to know how're the engagement metrics doing now, after tech twitter migrated here!

I really hope Bluesky works as X is just a cesspool of ragebait, but that's also where engagement lies rn.

What productivity tools do you guys use ? I've been mostly using Todoist, but really wanna try something new and cool!

Could also be something else! I found Arc Browser cool, but they're stopping new dev on it for another browser 🤷🏻‍♂️

What else ?

Any Android Devs working at @Google seeing this post ?

I recently started a new project with Gemini Starter API template, and it just doesn't work.

The default model "gemini-pro" is deprecated. When I fixed that, the API seems to be broken 👇🏻

A simple Pomodoro Counter app I built in 1 day using Gemini with Android Studio: play.google.com/store/apps/d...

I mainly wanted to practice using coroutines, jetpack compose + publishing on PlayStore after almost like 3 years!

I come from the era of and this @Composable thing was 🤯

Tried creating a simple countdown timer app using #Gemini in Android studio.

Mixed feelings: While it was good with initial setup and things like circular progress bar, it couldn't push through whenever I needed to add some customisation or fix a bug.

It was 1 step frwrd 2 back! It was 60% there🥲

With #buildinpublic is product the product or is content the product ? 🤔
