A thread: So what have we done until now about the villain seagull, Gus? We have started the project nearly 3 months ago and aim to complete in the next month. So here is a guide of steps that we have completed and some challenges that we have faced;

Having an evening code session with my girl! Say hi to Fiona, she is a 4 months old junior game developer! She said that All Gus Wants will be the best villain seagull game ever made 🐈

Ori and the Blind Forest: Obviously this was one of the best looking indie games of all time. Developers also support these amazing graphics by adding great cinematics and they hit hard. So, why not Gus have some touching cinematics?

I Am Bread: Although its not an animal based game, its one of the most absurd games ever. If this game didn’t exist and someone would have told me a game about a slice of bread will go big, I would tell him its impossible. But yet here we are… So Gus got inspiration for absurdness from I Am Bread!

Untitled Goose Game: Another animal based villainish game that has a main character that disturbs people in order to reach its goal. The cute and cozy environment was the biggest inspiration. Also the squawk sound when pressed space!!
August 23, 2025 at 12:12 PM
Goat Simulator: One of the absolute best of the indie games. A goat that spread chaos to humans. The chaotic part of the goat really inspired to develop a game where you will control a villain and disturb people

Here is a cool feature of the game! You will be able to steal snacks, money, card, wallet and lots of other things.

So feel free to walk into a store and grab somethings to eat while you are spreading chaos to people!

Amazing work, reminded me one of a cult game, Prince of Persia, the 1990 version. Loved the details 🔥

Goat Simulator: Our main character is a goat that tries to do some pugnacious moves near people. Main goal is to kill them. Never the less, the game can not be just about being a normal goat, right? Or is it a cozy game where you exactly play as a goat? You eat some grass and hike around mountains?
February 21, 2025 at 7:58 PM
The Long Dark: A game where our main character has woke up inside a cave in a forest. The main goal is to survive in an apocalyptic world by fighting some supernatural creatures. The graphics are 3D but cartoonish
February 21, 2025 at 7:53 PM
Stardew Valley: A similar game to Mario, a main character thats jumping around 🤣 The goal of the game is to not die by going forward somehow and collects stars from the sky. Also the game has cute 2D graphics.
February 21, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Inside: A game where the main character tries to escape from the prison. But this prison also have some monsters or creatures in it. The game has dark vibes with realistic 3D graphics!

Mentioned some indie game names to my non-gamer girlfriend and asked what they evoked for her. I'm really proud with her😄 Here are the games that I said and her thoughts just by hearing the names👇

Outlast: A survival game, after plane crash, with realistic 3D graphics

Great news! We have the concept designs for our main character in the game, which will be an angry seagull 🪶

Here are the 2 possible models, a rounded head or angular head seagull. Which one do you like the most? Also what do you think the game will be about?🤔

As an indie game developer, one of my biggest inspirations in indie games is Katana Zero. A solo dev handling so much to create a true masterpiece... Easily one of the best indie games ever made.

How about you? What’s your 'indie inspiration' game?

🚗💨 Throwback to one of my past game projects!

Made in Unity with Photon PUN, this online 4-player racing game was inspired by Blur! Players could grab power-ups and use them for an edge on the track. 🏁🔥

Check out the gameplay!

Stand Off => Last but not least, of course stand offs. It is so cool to approach to the enemy and bravely call them to duel. The waiting, attacking and the slow motion after the attack, these will give you excitement.
February 12, 2025 at 7:12 PM
Skill Tree => The game does not really have a special skill set, but the side attacks that you can choose is a deep bag. Smoke bombs to vanish, sticky bombs for AoE damage and many more.
February 12, 2025 at 7:11 PM
Dodging & Blocking => I know lots of games have these mechanics, but in this game you have to choose correct stance to block the attacks. Also the timing on dodging attacks feels just right. You can really feel like a samurai when dodging and then slashing your katana, immediately.

Been playing Ghost of Tsushima lately. I gotta ask myself, as a gamer who loves sword fights in games, why did I not play this game before? There are lots of mechanics and not a single one of them is useless or bad. But here are my top 3 mechanics from the game, without spoiler;
