Teach me your ways. I swear search engines are just dogshit nowadays, is there a google alternative thats actually good

The more abstract skills of learning frameworks, learning how to find answers and docs do translate imo.

Its like how schools teach you things you'll "never need". The process of learning and studying itself is whats being taught, not necessarily the content itself

Most c based languages are very similar syntaxwise. Youd be surprised how quickly you can translate skills between the langs - doubly so if its java or c# given that js and c# explicitly copied javas homework
November 25, 2025 at 6:24 PM
Imo if you can actually make custom shit work in rpgmaker, youre more than qualified to say you know js. That shits a lot more weird and complicated than anything ive had to do

Everything is the best to ever do it. Wish they had a mac version as well

And the OST names go from like

Yearning For Yellow (Vroom!)

to

The Vagrant Counting Song of Retrospection ~ Keepsake of Oblivion

Theres an entire quiz where you guess if a track name is from Touhou or Kirby, and its surprisingly tough.
November 23, 2025 at 6:09 AM
I like how Kirby is this whimsical little series where a good number of the villains are horrifically tragic. Like how Sectonia used a fucking mirror for too long or Haltmann lost his mind desperately seeking to bring back his lost daughter

Its dunning kruger, happens with everything. When theres a surface level "contradiction" that goes away if you actually look into it. Like, intuitively hyper realism == better artist if you think art is a technical skill pissing contest. Same goes for refs. But that isnt what art is about

Ultrakill, Hollow Knight, Outer Wilds, New Vegas, BG3, Hotline Miami 1+2

I feel very silly. I looked up Christos Spine Oil, fully expecting it to be a real thing only to find a reddit post saying they did they exact same thing for this exact same post

I have a special capsule installed in my backmost molar that im to chomp down on whenever anyone makes me write in c++
November 19, 2025 at 3:29 AM
I agree. It gets my hopes up. Bon appetit or any crude alternative implies i am going to get to eat the yummy food and yet, without fail, my specially installed refrigerated postbox remains empty

I liked my nt1a (though its definitely on the obnoxiously large side), and they now have a usb+xlr version which is nifty.

AT2020 is a very popular alt to the yeti as well, but that was a while ago
November 19, 2025 at 3:19 AM
Is this another of mike mateis misadventures
November 19, 2025 at 3:13 AM
The problem with the yeti is that the only real upgrade path requires buying an interface as well, and imo i dont think the jump in price is worth it in 90% of applications.

Sidegrades exist, and the best thing to do there imo is get a less obnoxiously large usb mic
