AWS Shield now has a "network security director" that tells you what you misconfigured. So it's a $3000/month service to point out problems their UI should've prevented. Also available in 5 more regions to overcharge you in!

AWS finally brings autoscaling to EMR in "US Gameday Northeast (Illinois)" because apparently normal region names are for cowards. It's just autoscaling, folks—a feature that's been table stakes since 2010.

AWS finally brought their 2011 PaaS nobody uses to 5 more regions. Elastic Beanstalk: because "we also have Heroku at home" needed to be available in Zurich. At least the geography team is still employed.

AWS DataSync introduces Terraform support for Enhanced mode

AWS finally added "Enhanced mode" to DataSync—because apparently the regular mode was just "Adequate mode." Now with Terraform support so you can automate paying for what rsync does for free. At least they removed file count limits!

AWS finally made Aurora DSQL spin up in seconds instead of minutes. Congrats on achieving what every other database did in 2015. "Virtually unlimited scalability" with "pay-for-what-you-use" means your bill scales infinitely too.

Amazon ECS now supports custom container stop signals on AWS Fargate

Only took AWS 9 years to let Fargate respect the STOPSIGNAL that's been in Docker since 2015. Congrats on finally reading the OCI spec! Next up: discovering containers can have more than one CPU.
