Data from the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) shows that their population has plummeted from over 27,000 in 2016 to fewer than 13,000 today. The Pacific Coast Feeding Group (PCFG) gray whales, a unique subset of ENP gray whales, numbers only about 200 whales.

The ESA is our nation’s most effective tool for saving wildlife facing extinction, and these regulations would make it more difficult to protect threatened & endangered species. This outcry shows that the Trump administration’s efforts to undermine the ESA flout the desires of the American people.
