oo this is cool! made a hacky version of this in the leaflet codebase, very glad to see something properly tackling it. Also, banger name

yesss super excited about this for leaflet too! The big issue i see for the social side is we don't have fine enough grained auth scopes, so you can't grant a site permission to *only* create subscribes/comments/likes etc pertaining to itself. hopefully we can figure something out tho!

Yeah, personally I am not a fan of semantic keys unless it's fundamental that they be so.

If/when we do slug customization it would probably be in the form of /rkey/slug or something similar

I think attaching a post + replying w/ bsky posts is the best if people are talking about a specific moment, i.e announcing the event. I think if you're imagining comments as more for rich discussion then better to roll your own lexicon

Def early days, but scrolling through the the discover feed there's, yes, stuff about ATProto and bsky, but also, poetry, sports, housing, politics, and unrelated tech news. Lots more we need to build but I do think there's a wide baseline demand for blogging but together but while owning your data

Not super generic but could take a look at github.com/hyperlink-ac...

Also have heard good things about better-auth?

There's already a bunch of solutions for private services, and I think a school is a pretty good trusted host for those kinds of things! Atp as the identity + public data layer I think still solves a ton w/o any in protocol private data.

Too good to languish like this tbh

This could also be a return to how things were (and still are in many places)! schools used to provide actually useful lifetime digital services to people! Email addresses -> pds hosting!

Identity portability in itself is already huge. Schools facilitate relationships between different parties (students, teachers, etc) they don't *own* those relationships and they definitely don't own those identities.
