Wow. The Sixers have a PERFECTLY HEALTHY MULTI-TIME ALL-STAR GUARD on the roster and still insist on playing Maxey 40 minutes a game. smdh

Lowry?
November 25, 2025 at 7:50 PM
the last one i was debating was lowry. but thought maybe he had a DNP-Old in there somewhere and no one noticed?

Not sure if this includes preseason or not...but I'm going...

Quentin Grimes
Justin Edwards
Andre Drummond
Jabari Walker
Eric Gordon

(Not sure if guys like Broome and Sallis are on the report just cuz they're going up and down to the G league?)

🤞

Totally. And I do think it's tricky. Pace and effort are generally things you want to encourage. No one enjoys slow, apathetic basketball.

But there's a point past which you're physically breaking great players and/or rewarding teams for collecting lots of mediocre talent

lmao GUILTY as charged
November 25, 2025 at 6:55 PM
there's a survival element to the NBA regular season that didn't exist even 10-15 years ago when the Spurs started resting guys routinely.

regular season games are way more intense. you can't expect 2/3rds of an NBA roster to absorb all that intensity for 82 games.
November 25, 2025 at 6:53 PM
for sure. i mean if you're trying to win tonight's game you have to play tyrese a TON of minutes. even McCain's addition doesn't plug all the holes

but it can't be all about tonight's game.
November 25, 2025 at 6:51 PM
And some of this comes down to coaching. you can't play Maxey 40 mins every night just assuming at some point Embiid will come back and lighten his load.

Certain nights you just have to play him fewer minutes and accept the on-court consequences. No one can sustain what Tyrese is doing

And I sincerely thank you for ruining the process. I’d rather have fun while losing than whatever the alternative was.
November 25, 2025 at 12:31 AM
Absolutely.
November 24, 2025 at 11:53 PM
*the process

Not “the prices” lol
November 24, 2025 at 11:41 PM
The wizards are definitely tanking. They hired a top guy away from the clippers and immediately did all the tanking stuff. You’re conflating the current regime with the prior one.
November 24, 2025 at 11:35 PM
And I don’t blame the fans. I was one of them! I blame ownership and the NBA for cowardice. But I do think what actually troubled the powers that be was less Hinkie and more the fans.
November 24, 2025 at 11:31 PM
So what made the process so threatening to a league that has tacitly endorsed tanking for decades? I think the true differentiator was the fans. Ppl *cheered for* the process. The process became a conversation topic that crossed into general sports media. That was the problem
November 24, 2025 at 11:31 PM
I get it. Hinkie did create a vacuum. He’s not blameless. But looking back I think he was maybe 10% more cryptic than the average tanking GM. It wasn’t THAT extreme. Everyone understood what they were doing.
November 24, 2025 at 11:31 PM
The org only did what it did because the league clearly leaned on them. And why did the league lean on them? I think it’s cuz the prices garnered wayyyy more attention than a typical rebuild.
November 24, 2025 at 11:24 PM
You’re misunderstanding my point. It’s not the content of the podcast. It’s not that they were listening to the pod or whatever. It’s that there was a vocal group of fans (fronted by the Ricky) that truly embraced the idea of tanking. That’s what freaked the league out.
November 24, 2025 at 11:22 PM
And I don’t know the answer beyond fewer games. But assuming the owners won’t go for that solution…someone in the league office needs to be forward a serious proposal.
November 24, 2025 at 11:12 PM
And I say this as someone who has listened to The Ricky on/off for many many years...but is not a diehard...

The Ricky basically doomed The Process. That part was the actual nightmare for Adam Silver...not the tanking itself (or even Hinkie)
November 24, 2025 at 8:50 PM
the further we get away from The Process the more I'm convinced it was the fan enthusiasm that actually doomed it. The NBA knew/knows tanking is inevitable. But once there was a name for what the Sixers did and vocal fan support...they felt they had to do *something*
November 24, 2025 at 8:48 PM
Lmao yours is better
November 21, 2025 at 5:40 AM
The spite that Tyrese and PG feel for Doc powered us to this win. Love that guy!!
