So many developers have sent me that Anthropic skills/mastery case study that I realized I should ungate what I *already wrote* about this: beginning principles to design workflows that work *with* your mind, not against it, & protect your problem-solving

Cognitive Helmets for the AI Bicycle: Part 1
I hear people name these three fears: will developers lose their problem-solving skills, learning opportunities, and critical thinking? One science-backed area can help: better metacognitive strategie...

The 15 richest people in America saw their collective wealth jump nearly $1 trillion during Trump's year back in office.

Many of them were standing alongside Trump at his inauguration one year ago today.

How are you doing?

this is my hope too. that bump in productivity makes it possible to create solutions for problems where the cost benefit didn't necessarily balance out before. but now, one person can create something that can solve problems for an audience that's not large enough to warrant an expensive eng team
My lack of productivity, my inability to work hard enough to make reality express a tiny fraction of the better world in my head had me very very sad.

I had no clue how I was going to keep on, while being so hopeless.

The productivity is *incredibly* relieving to see.

i cannot begin to state the optimism i am feeling. a wildly over the top feeling that more than 0.0000001% of what is inside me might possibly potentially perhaps maybe get to come out. that the mysterious and important work might actually manifest in the world.

The majority of organizing happening in Minnesota isn’t just peaceful, it’s INVISIBLE. Moms showing up who won’t be interviewed on TV, people whose ICE patrols don’t turn into viral video. The grocery runs, the donations, the people filming bc they happen to be there. Please remember this.

One thing that irks me: people keep calling the folks on the streets in Minneapolis protestors. They are not generally there to protest, they are there to observe and document. This is the product of organizing and mutual aid. It is telling that these acts of citizenship are seen as protest!

We all need to put more thought into who we are online. Who is around us? How do we assert ourselves? What sites and information do we use? How is it verified? A lot of this is being taken for granted.
What does it even mean to “ think more deeply how my Internet works in practical terms?” Legit question. Millions of us wanna live in the real world and have nothing to do with this crap.
