My wife is making g sauerkraut today. The first cabbage (of two) she pulled from the garden is over ten pounds!

I finished! Beat my goal time of 1:50 (got 1:44:11), and biked at 20.8mph (seriously, rode the hardest I’ve ever done in my life). And… won third place for my division!

Going to be honest, this is a sub-optimal bike chain configuration.
The gears of a bike (by the pedals), with the chain not only derailed, but wrapped around the spindle. The chain is also twisted in a loop a bit further back. I don’t actually know how this physically happened when I shifted gears. It took me twenty minutes to untangle without bending or breaking the chain links.

We went camping despite a potentially dreary forecast. Rain mostly held off long enough for dinner and s’mores. Now lying cozily in the tent, and this Hilda page strongly came to mind.

An online shop I used in the past looks like it is experimenting with AI to generate marketing emails…
An email body with three paragraphs for step 1, 2, and 3. The steps are “Audience and Topic”, “Proofreading”, and “Call-to-action”. Each paragraph describes how a newsletter could be written to make it effective. Finally there is a button linking to the online store. Clearly, someone sent this without proofreading!

Teammate brought Mumbai street food, “vada pao”. Like a croquette sandwich, with chilis and chutney. Really tasty!

The tap water here isn’t safe, so the hotel provides lots of bottles of filtered water. The glassware for drinking is small, and has the heft like a tumbler, and it clinks when I set down the glass. So I feel like I’m pouring fingers of whiskey every time I’m thirsty.

Dinner (lunch? Time zones were crossed): fantastic leek&fennel soup, chicken confit w/broccolini and beats, and a black current white chocolate mousse for dessert.

There set the “table” for me for eating. Breakfast, with a delicious karak chai—I tried both the cardamom and the saffron versions.
Airline food, business class. Frittata, potato tosti, broccolini, tomato. Greek yogurt with peach compote and granola. Rolls with jam and butter on the side. Cardamom karak chai.

Business class window seat on Qatar Airways. Primary seat with space to the side. There’s a pillow, blanket, and side seat. Business class seat, facing forward. Space to put up my legs (and for sleeping). A large tv screen is above the foot space.
