Like I understand that they are kind of doing things the “right way” but in my opinion there is no “right way” to use the logo of an indigenous person when the entire team is white. But again just my opinion

I hear what you’re saying and I respect everything that they have done to work with indigenous groups, just my own opinion is that it is fundamentally racist for an organization run by white people to use a logo of a Native American person. 🤷♀️

You know what it is, is a bunch of white ppl are already conditioned to view native people as “other” so using them as a sports logo makes sense because they already don’t view them as human. And that’s the tea

I just think, when while people look at it they are automatically going to want to believe it’s not racist, whereas if you’re a person of color, your gonna look at a bunch of people using the brown face as a logo and be like, WTF🤣

IMO the correct way to honor someone is in a museum or name a street after them, not use their face as a sports logo

Also, despite the black hawks now working with the tribe, I have also received comments from indigenous people who still feel the logo makes them uncomfortable and they don’t like the logo. Studies have shown that native sports logos can hurt native kid’s self image

Ok!
- the original logo was designed by a white person and you can see that it has even used red skin. So it is actually dehumanizing this person. For example, other nhl logos are animals or objects. It others this person. It allows white people to dress up as him. Does that make sense?
