All good, I find it needlessly confusing myself, and I do agree I would much rather have a character creator in most games

In the DLC? Shadow of the Erdtree? You do play as your created character from the main game.

I do agree that the gobble them up and dissolve them is a huge issue in the game industry, you mentioned EA who did that for a time, (they ate bioware ME is my all time fave) The worst perpetrator is currently Microsoft, who gobbles up everything they can.
