I think it’s also that and also a bit of that underdog complex that has been brewing in the ak community for a long while too. I can also see a bit of insecurity and feeling a bit othered in an already niche community. When really you just haven’t found your circle yet.

And in case that creator that I argued with on tumblr sees this. I’ve calmed down now to not really feel as emotional about what you said and you’re definitely not as bad as the people mentioned in this thread. This is just an overall observation I’ve noticed over years that I’m guilty of too.

The people doing it in bad faith are obviously just being manipulative about it but the people that are in good faith, Idk I just feel kinda sad abt it. Like damn do you feel that isolated from this community that you have to resort to thinking you’re the only ‘human’ here?

Obvs the ak community isn’t perfect and has the usual fandom problems, but I dislike this view that is essentially NPC-ifying the other people within this community. Because it feels disrespectful towards the other people in it that care abt it as much as you do.

Tectone, Tobo and Saint all play the same/similar note of “The community is the problem and they’re getting on my ass for telling the TRUTH.” and obviously they’re the more extreme examples but I think a good chunk of AK creators have exhibited this attitude. Its a trap I’ve most likely fell for too
