Years ago, before podcasts existed, my fellow editors at @thinkingautism and I were all identified by name and then called “pharmawhores” by some right-wing internet radio host. AFIK, none of us have received sketchy monthly payments on our porches. So disappointing. 🤷‍♀️

I’d break down the steps for him. For example, I’d say “A clean room means no clothes on the floor.” Then we’d pick up clothes to throwing dirty ones in a hamper & putting the clean ones in drawers. Same with toys. I made sure to say “OK, now your room is clean,” so he knew the task was done. (2/2)

The imprecise instructions thing was extremely hard on me when I was a kid. My mother would tell me to clean my room, then not give me a sense of how that goal was accomplished. So when my son was very young, I would say Let’s clean your room together. (1/2)
