Today seems like a good day to remind everyone of my #fantasy #resistance novel with #LGBTQ characters where teens fight against an empire fueled by religious zealotry.

So now that I’ve finally gotten the files moving, the internet on the new computer isn’t loading some sites… DayQuil, take me away.

Ok, hey, @microsoft.com, 30 years of windows, literally 30 years, and these are the hoops I have to jump through to move files from one computer to another that are PLUGGED DIRECTLY INTO EACH OTHER! #IT #microsoft #getittogether

Going to try to do some writing today. Wish me luck.

I finished Fevered Sky by Rebecca Roanhorse, and I’ve just ordered the third book in her trilogy. Phenomenal stuff! Can’t wait to read the final book.

I always knew it was bad, but I didn’t know it was accessory to infanticide bad! Sweet hairy hobbits, that’s horrific. And yet… somehow, there’s going to be something worse.

So I got this news in my email today:

“Really cool news: PUSH! is a nominee for the Haunted Minds Book Club Award for Best Anthology 2025. “

My story, “Take the Baby” is in that one, and I’m thrilled!

I run out to get my wife some dried
Mango and come home to my son in tears wailing while she is shaking and almost having a breakdown. What the fuck happened in 20 minutes?!?!?!?

My uncle who is kind of close minded read Good Bones. And he ambushed me as soon as I walked in on Thanksgiving with shockingly unexpected praise. That’s a lot to take in, but it’s a good thing.

It’s too cold. I don’t want to get out of bed. This is hibernating weather.

I watched the first episode of the Mighty Nein tonight. 20/10!!!!

I just took the single most utterly useless corporate gibberish training module I’ve ever seen in my life. Oh my god. People are paid money to make these things?
Middle managers have entirely too much time on their hands.

I really miss writing time, but doing adult job things keeps me fed and housed. It’s kind of a lot.

I wish we lived in a country where “killing people is wrong” was taken more seriously by the “pro life” crowd.

Apparently porch pirates took the 10 copies of Revenant I ordered.
I hope they and nine other friends like horror. 🙄
November 1, 2025 at 2:25 PM
Happy Halloween! About ten copies of Revenant probably got put on my neighbors porch by the USPS the other day, so they are probably soaked and ruined now.
Because apparently house numbers are hard.

Lots of love for my story, “Take the baby” featured in the Push! Childbirth horror anthology. A good number of reviews mention it by name.

Playing a Halloween #d&d one shot as a goblin dressed up as a human who has a severe sugar addiction.
“I am human! I go to job and do business! Money more important than life. NOW GIMME CANDY!!!”

I’ve been learning about gas explosions all morning. I’m not making a joke. Next we’re going to go blow something up. If my call center training was this cool at prior jobs, I might not have burned out

Finished Black Sun. What a book!! Complex and engaging, a real journey into Indigenous fantasy. Loved it. I will tear into the next book when I get home.

This book is amazing! High fantasy, but in an Indigenous Meso-American fantasy setting by an Indigenous author. It’s really good! #booksky

I will never understand the kind of deep seated insecurity and fear that makes a person compulsively driven to ruin other people’s lives. If you need to bully someone to feel tough, then you’re not. If you need to look down on others to feel good, you’re not a good person. Period, end of story.
