My WIP:
Brielle, a powerful empath, is being hunted by a grieving necromancer who is determined to use her ability to get his revenge. 💫
By her side is Evander, the emotionally guarded ranger assigned to protect her. Get ready for a slow burn with an Obsession level payoff. 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

I keep a note in my phone of all the thoughts that I have for my book. Little snippets of dialogue, interesting words, suddenly realized devastating plot holes - you get the idea.

Today's entry: Face Sitting.
That's it. 🤷🏼‍♀️ That's the entry. 🩷

Dear Bluesky, I keep getting frustrated by my lack of interactivity here and disappearing for ages.

Only, I do really want to use this platform more.

Can anyone help an old lady figure this out?

My feeds are filled with clips of Cory Booker spitting absolute FIRE during his record breaking 25 hour filibuster. 🔥

I'm going to be tempted to buy SO MANY T-shirts with iconic quotes.

Winter sunrise, all is still.
Boughs heavy with icy frosting. Burrows cozy with softly breathing fluff. Bronzed honey and tangerine oozes over the horizon, a liquid velvet greeting for another day.

I highly recommend getting a little bluetooth keyboard for your day bag. I usually carry a notebook, but sometimes ideas come faster than I can scribble, and definitely faster than I can tap out on a phone keyboard! 1/2

Did it! Thank you to everyone that supported & did beta reads for me. I'm definitely going to keep writing more and stretching my comfort zone. Results come in April!

When the notseez ran out of places they could deport people to, or wanted to be rid of people that they couldn't deport, they started to build detention centers.

Anyway, Mexico is refusing to accept deportees and ICE is targeting Native Americans.

This just in...

Changed all my account names from bd_unti to authorbrookeunti. I feel like I need someone to hold my hand while I combat the ✨imposter syndrome.✨ 😅

If you work with ICE,
Then you work alongside fascism.

If you report your neighbors,
Then you would have reported Anne Frank.

Anyone else use the Ctrl+f function to find words they often overuse... Then ruthlessly remove them, even when it doesn't make sense to? 😆

What are your words? Mine are just, quite, and bit.

I knew I was challenging my overly-descriptive self when I entered a short story competition with a hard word limit... I just didn't realize how much! There's stepping out of my box... Then there's standing in the corpse of half my original word count and left wondering: is this even good?

😥 When your first draft was 4,705 words but your submission cap is 2,500.

Editing all day got me like 😵‍💫

Have to chop out those darlings! (But knowing the story will be better for it.)

Goal: 2,500 word short story.

I allotted 500 words for the introduction/set-up. Then I accidentally stayed up writing. So far that portion alone is at 1,858.

Editing this is going to be a nightmare. 😂

My apple tree is filled with birds enjoying what was left behind. We often find deer prints around the yard in the early morning.

I'm entered to participate in the NYC Midnight Short Story Challenge this year and I'm counting down the days with both excitement and trepidation. Here's to stage one of my 2025 goals: Stepping outside the comfort zone!

Trying really hard to find some peace or hope but tbh my (BP/anxiety/anti nausea) meds are barely taking the edge off today so I'm just gonna rot for a bit.
