i do! my two works HTCH and B&W roughly take place between 1925-1937, give or take a few flashbacks :)

so civilian cars could actually get pretty souped up, and often were more easily outfitted with high-powered engines- nascar and competitive racing actually came out of the tradition of bootleggers outracing the cops during Prohibition!

if I had to say more fun things:
- Jensen is the best (safest/most technically proficient) driver
- Evan is the fastest driver, & only really learns how to drive after prison
- Nathan’s lack of access to a car is a big part of how him & Lawrence meet❤️

Jensen loves fashion❤️ Nathan & Evan both tease him about it, but he buys clothes for the feel and fit as determined by his sensory preferences first- it just so happens that good quality clothes often feel better!
but poor Evan. how can someone be so pretty and so well-dressed? (easily, tbh)

Evan is afraid of dressing too fashion-forward in case it draws unwanted attention, so he sticks to few colors or trends. he also has lots of body image issues stemming from his Big Illness a few years before B&W, and wears his old (now too-big) clothes as a perpetual self-flagellating reminder

Nathan only think about clothes insomuch as he dresses for utility & practicality- he’ll stitch up holes & darn his own socks until new purchases are necessary. he starts dressing a little better once he has a permanent life w Lawrence & co, but it’s never on the forefront of his mind

Lawrence is absolutely fastidious about his hair, dress, and hygiene, because he needs a routine to make him not feel like a failure and project the respectability he does not feel. it’s also what draws Nathan to him- N admires his put-togetherness after so much chaos in his own life

what’s more of a discussion (and what I’ll talk about a lil here) is the attention they pay to their level/formality of dress, because that comes up more than you’d think and says quite a bit!
