Creating a canon is hard! (I know it’s problematic.) I recall a friend asking me to make a list of rap albums one must listen to and I couldn't do it because I was too overwhelmed. Haha.
So, I'm glad my students were good sports about this activity.

At first I asked each group to choose 4 albums released between 1979 and 2001. Then I asked them to select 2 from between 2002 - Present (we were running out of time 😂).
