Spotify apparently thinks only people who were teenagers at the time liked 80s popular music, which is going to be a surprise to all of the younger people I know who were also into 80s music growing up.

I'm sympathetic to the idea that progressives need to rethink procedural barriers to getting things done, and that this a crucial moment for American government. But we are witnessing a shift to authoritarianism right now. American needs not just a theory of power but also theory of accountability.

There's a lot of wishful thinking in terms of the electorate, and treating it like it is a slider in a computer program. "If only we'd moved the slider just far enough right to not be in the Republican area, we could have won!"
It completely ignores how people actually vote. Most vote for a party.
