Personally, I don’t see why not? Even if they (or some of them) do eventually “outgrow it,” they’ve learned about themselves from the experience, which is… the bulk of YA stories, no? We all learn through trial and error. And maybe it *is* the right thing for them - there’s only one way to find out.
